We are an Association of everyday
people of various backgrounds and occupations with a common interest,
wine/winemaking/grapegrowing. Our group is comprised of people with an
interest in the art of winemaking for home use and for commercial
sales. We are banded together to promote the making of wine and growing
of grapes as both a hobby and an industry with the owners of
winery/vineyards a vibrant part of our organization.
Our Group has a Club atmosphere with outings of a
field trip nature a part of the yearly agenda. We also have
monthly meetings of a business nature, but always with some special
activity or speaker to make the meeting more enjoyable. We usually have
some wine to share either that a member has made, one of our wineries
has donated or that has been purchased for the occasion.
Our monthly meetings are usually held at The
Pasta House Company in Paducah, courtesy of the owner, Bob Hoppmann ,
also a Club member/secretary. Our membership has on its rolls
people
with years of experience that are anxious to give their help and assist
us with their expertise.
We have winemakers that make their wines from
kits, all manner of fruits, and grapes that they either bought or grew
themselves. We also have grapegrowers that sell their grapes at present
with winery plans in the future. We are interested in the politics of
winemaking in Kentucky especially for our commercial members.
We are many things to the members of the Club.
Mostly we are together to have fun and enjoy each others company
as we endeavor to make wines as good or better than we can buy.
Everyone has an interesting story (although most dont think their story
is very interesting). We plan to try to get every story on this site
someday.
This page could be written to be a lot longer,
however I think you the reader get the gist of the message. We are
formed into a Club to have fun. This fun can come from lots of areas
whether it be from winemaking, grape/other fruit growing, or just
meeting others with a like mind. Come join us.
