GREETINGS TO ALL
<>
Last Thursday, we had our second annual meeting of the West
Kentucky Winegrowers Association, with our featured speaker Jim
Wight-from the Kentucky Vineyard Society. Mr. Wight gave us a good
rundown of what all has happened between the wineries, wholesalers, and
the folks in Frankfort. His input was appreciated, and I hope our club
continues to have a strong position within and next to the KVS and
other regional wine clubs.
I would personally like to say how much I
appreciate receiving my certificate and plaque from the club. It has
been a pleasure being a part of the club from the ground up so to
speak, and I look forward to serving in specific roles in the future.
As the club moves forward to such lofty goals as equipment sharing,
wine competitions, and looking for ways to boost membership and
participation, I ask that you give Allen Dossey, our current president,
the same support that you have given me. I know Allen will do a great
job. I also know that his professional life is more involved than when
we first set things up, so let's all give him our best efforts. Thanks
also go to Steve Glisson, who agreed to serve as Administrative Vice
President this year.
I would also like to thank once again all of
the members of the executive committee for their superb work this year,
and for agreeing to stay on this year. With that, I'll say, see you at
the picnic!
Sincerely,
Bradley T. Rankin, M.D.
Immediate Past President, WKWA
